BAIRD: From Monmouth to Monkland, was inspired by the great lack of sources connecting my ancestor, John Baird of Monmouth, to his family in Scotland. Information circulating about Old John is often misinformation presented with little to no sourcing, abundant with errors. This work was written and compiled to provide a modern reference guide, as a testament to Old John, and his probable father, James Baird the Exile, providing sources and original text packaged together in one place. With full source citations and supportive genetic analysis presented in an easy-to-understand manner, readers are able to retrace my research journey and discover how I came to the conclusions outlined herein.
